All Epson non-Photo printers used to have a three-colour ink cartridge plus a smaller black ink cartridge, but the latest models have seperate colour ink cartridges.
The latest range of non-photo printers with a dot resolution of 2880dpi (dots per inch) and a variable dot size can produce quite reasonable photographic results on the proper Epson paper!

All these printers have a parallel and USB interface (if using USB I certainly recommend Win98 second edition or later).
For photographic reproduction always use the highest quality setting on the printer (2880dpi) with the correct paper.
With a Lupe or magnifying glass you can see the dot pattern when using these printers, but most people do not look a photo that closely.
For those who want the best results, ie photographic club users, the Epson Stylus Photo range is superior. But for how long?
